The What’s Up Wednesday!? Vanlife Show
Which Van Chassis Wins? ProMaster vs. Transit vs. Sprinter
Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET
In this episode of What’s Up Wednesday!?, Scott answers a detailed question from community member @hikenbike-view, who is considering transitioning from a 2013 Winnebago View to a gas-powered Class B or Class C chassis.
Scott breaks down the pros and cons of the three major van chassis—Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit, and Mercedes Sprinter. He explains why the Ram ProMaster remains his top pick due to its straightforward gasoline engine, front-wheel drive system, and wider interior body dimensions, while detailing why the Mercedes Sprinter’s diesel maintenance requirements make it a non-starter for his travel style.
